The risk of receiving a thermal blow exists not only in the summer. It is enough to be in a stuffy, poorly ventilated room with high humidity. If at the same time you also have clothes that interfere with normal sweating - the risk of getting a thermal blow increases repeatedly.
First you feel dry mouth and severe thirst. If at the same time you also start to hurt your head or a dizziness appears, accompanied by weakness and nausea, it is better to listen to the “scream for help” and take the necessary measures. Otherwise, the thermal blow is inevitable.
The first thing you must do is to provide normal oxygen access to the body and restore heat transfer. Take off the excess, interfering clothes. If possible, cool the body with water. Even better, make a compress on your head from a wet towel or napkin. Evaping water will help reduce the temperature. If there is an opportunity to take a refreshing cool shower - do it immediately! Remember, the thermal blow occurs quickly, and the more decisive and energetic your actions will be - the less chance to get it.
Never hope that the symptoms will pass by themselves. Do not forget that thousands of people die annually from the thermal blow. Apply the same actions to a person who did not protect himself from a thermal blow. Help the victim to go to a cooler place and provide him with normal heat transfer, as indicated above. Even better - find a room with air conditioning or at least with a fan. Help the victim to take off your clothes. If he has lost consciousness, you will have to undress it yourself. Do not forget about the compress on the head!
After providing first aid, try to put the victim under the shower or in the bath, and if this is not possible, wipe his body with a wet towel. It doesn’t matter in what way, the main task is to immediately cool the body.
You can also improve heat transfer and use the massage of the arms and legs, which will help restore normal blood circulation and provide heat outflow. Do these procedures very carefully, and better - together.
Cooling the body should only be achieved by its normal temperature, which is desirable to control using the thermometer. After that, carefully monitor the patient's condition, and, of course, stay with him until the arrival of ambulance or during a trip to the hospital.
Sunstroke
If you are under the scorching rays of the summer sun for a long time, you have a risk of getting to know each other with another variety of thermal blow - a sunny blow. Its probability is very high, especially if you neglect elementary protective equipment in the form of a hat or other headgear.
Symptoms of a sunny blow and symptoms of ordinary thermal blow are similar. It all starts as usual: dry mouth appears and severe thirst, then begins to get sick, and sometimes spin, head. Some have noise in the ears. Then nausea comes, and sometimes vomiting begins. In addition to all of the above symptoms, a severe sunburn may also be added, caused by the effects of ultraviolet radiation, which is so much in the far -and -day rays of the sun.
First aid techniques are similar to the above for a thermal blow. In the same way, transfer or transfer the victim to a cool place, to fresh air and tear it, then lay it down. Provide him in peace and silence. Put a cold wet compress or ice on his head. Make sure he did not receive a strong sunburn. If this happens, be sure to bind the affected area with a clean cloth or bandage, you can also grease the burn with cream or sour cream.
In any case, call the victim “ambulance”, or take him to the hospital.
Remember that a solar blow can easily be avoided. To do this, just, in sunny weather, dress in free clothes of light tones and. Do not neglect the headdress. Fans to sunbathe should also remember that it is necessary to use sunscreen and hats.
What to drink in the heat?
1.It is best to drink ordinary water. For every 1000 kilocalories, it is recommended to drink about a liter of water. If this is water from the central water supply either from your personal well, or from a personal/collective well, you must be sure that this is water of good quality.
If we drink mineral water, then only the dining room (with the content of salts up to 1 g. Per liter), not therapeutic (unless, of course, you are prescribed therapeutic mineral water by the doctor). At the same time, you should know that a glass bottle is preferable to plastic, and non -carbonated water is more useful than sod. Carbonated mineral waters (especially if they are sodamized artificially) can disrupt the acid-base balance of the body.
2.In second place after water is cool, weakly brewed tea, preferably with lemon. In favor of green tea - a high content of flavonoids, which positively affect the vessels. In favor of black - caffeine that is part of it, which is better toned.
3.In third place - juices and nectars with a slight sugar content. But do not forget: you need to drink them on an empty stomach or between meals-in an hour and a half before or after eating. And limit yourself to two or three glasses per day.
4. In the fourth place - milk (with fat content of up to 3.5%) and fermented milk products (kefir, fermented, yogurt and yogurt).
What not to drink in the heat?
Sweet carbonated drinks, coffee, beer and strong alcoholic drinks. All this in the heat gives a load on the heart and blood vessels and can pose a serious danger to the health of even the strongest person.
How to drink in the heat?
1. It is advisable to drink either half an hour before meals, or an hour after. Then the incoming liquid will not interfere with normal digestion.
2. At one time you should not drink more than 150-200 ml of water, this leads to excessive load on the heart and kidneys.
3. With physical activity, it is recommended to drink before, during and after it. Preference should be given to hard water containing a large amount of potassium, magnesium and other electrolytes.
4.You should not drink too cold water, because the water below 20 degrees never quenches thirst, because the temperature in the gastrointestinal tract is 36 ° C and higher, and when cold water gets there, the mucous membrane of the mucosa and slowing down the digestive and absorption processes. The vessels of the intestinal mucosa are reflexively compressed from the cold, the water does not knock from the intestines into the bloodstream, and the body cannot “get drunk” for a long time.
As one of the options, we recommend the following drinking mode:
1. In the morning, before and after breakfast, you can drink tea, coffee, water or juice as you want. In the future, over the next two hours, do not drink at all or eliminate dry mouth with a small sip of water. By the way, if you endure the first acute desire to drink, then in the future the thirst is easier to transfer.
2. During the third and fourth hours, drink one glass of cool water in small sips. Before lunch, you can afford another glass of soft drink, but already an hour after lunch you can drink as much as you want.
3. The similar order of the drinking regime should be observed in the afternoon, that is, in the next two hours after quenching thirst, not drinking more, and drink a glass of cool water over the next two hours. Before dinner, you will have to limit yourself to one glass of liquid. It’s better not to drink at night.
