Autumn-winter is a period of increase in acute respiratory infections and the danger of influenza.
The only reliable and safe way to avoid getting the flu is vaccination!
The goal of vaccination is to reduce the incidence of complications, exacerbation and aggravation of cardiovascular, pulmonary diseases and other chronic pathologies. Annually, influenza vaccination confirms its effectiveness and expediency by more than 90%.
IMPORTANT: All influenza vaccines are registered and approved for use in the Republic of Belarus. They contain current virus strains recommended by WHO for inclusion in the composition of seasonal influenza vaccines for use in the 2024-2025 season in the Northern Hemisphere:
• virus similar to A/Victoria/4897/2022 (H1N1) pdm09;
• virus similar to A/ Thailand/8/2022 (H3N2);
• virus similar to B/Austria/1359417/2021 (B/Victoria lineage);
• virus similar to B/Phuket/3073/2013 (B/Yamagata lineage) (only for quadrivalent vaccines).
As the influenza virus is prone to mutations, the strain composition of vaccines changes annually, said Kirill Ignatov, head of the immunization department of the Republican Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health at a press conference in Minsk.
In Belarus, influenza vaccination will be carried out with three vaccines, reports the Ministry of Health. Among them:
• Vaccine for the prevention of influenza (trivalent, production Russia, will be vaccinated free of charge);
• Vaxigrip Tetra (quadrivalent, production France, paid vaccination);
• Influvac Tetra (quadrivalent, production Switzerland, paid vaccination).
REMEMBER THAT OBSERVING PREVENTIVE MEASURES WILL PROTECT AGAINST ARVI, INFLUENZA, AND UNFAVORABLE CONSEQUENCES!
